  • The longer you live the more likely you will develop a medical condition that requires surgery or a procedure.
  • Half of all people 65 and older will have at least one surgical procedure in their lifetime.
  • Maintaining brain health after surgery and anesthesia is not only important to our patients, but it is an increasingly important patient safety imperative!

Our Goal:
Understanding cognitive trajectories for a diverse group of patients

When?

Participants will be assessed in 4 moments: one before and 3 after surgery

Who?

You can participate if 40 years or older and have a surgery scheduled at MGH

How?

Perioperative cognitive assessment with online questions and tasks

Time commitment?

Answer ONLINE surveys before and after surgery (about 30 min each)
